Herbfarmacy Newsletter: Autumn 2009Herbfarmacy Open day –A Great success!
Despite the mixed weather conditions we had a great day. Much was on offer including a walk amongst our herb fields with Paul who outlined the methods used in the growing and processing of the herbs for our Organic skin care range, tinctures, ointments and oils, whilst Jane talked about the herbal infusions and decoctions that are an intrinsic part of our products - how they work and what they do for our skin.
Many thanks to all who helped to make it a fruitful and successful day! And thanks to all who came despite the rather showery weather conditions. Barefaced Yoga Herbfarmacy has launched its programme of youth enhancing facial exercises. Carol Richards, co founder of Herbfarmacy Organic Skincare and experienced yoga teacher, has developed a self-help method of maintaining outer and inner beauty using simple facial exercises. By introducing this regime into your daily beauty routine you can increase blood circulation to the face, improve muscle and skin tone, and smooth out wrinkles, which, in turn, boosts natural confidence and inner glow.
You don’t need a great deal of preparation to practice Herbfarmacy Barefaced Yoga although you might like to practice after you have cleansed and moisturised your face as this will provide a gentle ‘warm up’ and well moisturised skin is more elastic. Look here for more information
A key member of Janey’s team met Paul and the Herbfarmacy products at Olympia’s Natural and Organic Products Show a good few years ago now and fell in love with the Whole Body Lotion. She was thrilled to see it in its new packaging and believes it is now better than ever!
About the herbs - St John's Wort – A great remedy for the winter blues...
St John's Wort has also been called the 'sunshine herb' and is used successfully for mild depression and the 'winter blues' - bringing a little sunshine into the low periods of winter. In this case the fresh herb is gathered late in flowering and made into a tincture in alcohol - or at home - in vodka (available from our sister company Postlethwaites.) When James Wong and his crew came to the farm back in June, they filmed Paul and James making both a tincture and an oil. Look out for the next series of “Grow your own Drugs”. Charity Fairs Herbfarmacy is doing its bit for charity over the autumn, being involved in a number of charity fairs. Two key events are the Help for Heroes and WellChild Fairs.
We will be offering special promotions for those buying gifts and there will be many other wonderful stalls to browse. Check our website for more fairs that we are involved in over the coming months. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- See the slides from Dr Paul's Richard's Camexpo talk >>>>
