Where can we purchase local/organic food?

We have our own organic apple Juice available for sale on our Herb Farm. Eardisley village has a well stocked village shop which also sells newspapers and some local produce. At the back of The New Strand pub - which also serves as a bookshop and post office - they sometimes sell organic vegetables and fruit when in season. Both Kington and Hay-on-Wye towns (within 6-8 miles) are worth a visit and have several interesting shops, some of  which sell organic fruit, veg. meat etc. and much more. At Kington there is George’s Deli and the Grapevine opposite which sell great fruit and veg and Fresh fish plus a couple of good local butchers. When you visit Hay check out The Hay Deli in Lion Street and the Small image of the farmFarms Butchers in Broad Street, there’s also a great market there on Thursdays.

Can you suggest some good places to eat that have local and organic produce on their menus?

There are several nearby eateries in Eardisley Village (The Tram Inn and The New Strand) and at Winforton (The Sun Inn) that use local and sometimes organic produce but non are purely organic.
Dunkertons organic Cider mill is in nearby Pembridge and has just re-opened its restaurant with good local food, wine and of course Organic Cider. There are lots of great places to eat in Hay both during the day and in the evening. More information on recommended eateries and What’s on locally etc will be available in your cottage when you arrive.
We could also stock up your Fridge with 0rganic /free range bacon and org. eggs from the Small Farms Butcher in Hay-on-Wye for when you arrive, just let us know.

Beyond food and still on an organic theme…..we also offer an Organic Facial and Swedish or Aromatherapy massage plus other Treatments/ Therapies from our Herbfarmacy shop in Hay.
